Pole Vault Safety
Summer 2008 By Jan Johnson Part of the process of learning to pole vault is learning to manage risk. It should be a big part of any pole vault education program. The five basic elements of risk management are (1) controlling the environment, (2) developing good basic skills, (3) making adjustments for consistency, (4) understanding the basic concepts of pole vaulting, and (5) supervision.
