BOSTON – The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) today announced an elite field of world class competitors for the 2017 B.A.A. 5K and B.A.A. Invitational Mile, to be held on Saturday, April 15, two days prior to the 2017 Boston Marathon®. Rhode Island’s Molly Huddle and New Hampshire’s Ben True will return to Boston each aiming to earn their fourth B.A.A. 5K titles.

Kiprop, C. Kipruto, Harrison vs Rollins - DOHA (QAT): Three-time world 1500m champion Asbel Kiprop is confirmed for the 1500m at the Doha Diamond League on 5 May where he will face teammates Silas Kiplagat and Elijah Manangoi. Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto will contest the 3000m flat against Olympic 5000m silver medallist Paul Chelimo and Ethiopians Hagos Gebrhiwet and world indoor champion Yomif Kejelcha. World record-holder Kendra Harrison goes head-to-head with Olympic champion Brianna Rollins in the 100m hurdles with Nia Ali, Cindy Ofili and European champion Cindy Roleder also in the field.

Sam Chelanga, in his UAE Healthy Kidney 10K debut, edged out second place finisher Thomas Longosiwa of Kenya by just 64 hundredths of a second to win the race - NEW YORK  (April 9, 2017)—U.S. athlete, Sam Chelanga, won the 13th annual UAE Healthy Kidney 10K on Sunday, April 9, in Central Park in 28:21. Mamitu Daska, of Ethiopia, finished first for the women in 31:37.

Allan Kiprono and Fate Tola are the winners of the HAJ Hannover Marathon. In what is his biggest career win the Kenyan clocked 2:09:52 in fine but relatively warm weather conditions. Fellow-Kenyan Philip Sanga snatched second place from Norway’s Sondre Moen in the final metres of the race. Both runners were timed with 2:10:07. Moen’s time is a Norwegian record.

Race organizers announce dynamic prize purse to attract top U.S. talent - Sacramento has been selected to host the U.S. Marathon Championships at the California International Marathon for men and women in 2017 and 2018 as announced by USA Track & Field, the sport’s national governing body.

Ethiopian Olympic silver medalist Feyisa Lilesa and U.S. Paralympian Susannah Scaroni take the tape for the first time in New York City - New York, March 19, 2017 — American runner Molly Huddle and South African wheelchair racer Ernst van Dyk both won their third consecutive United Airlines NYC Half titles and Ethiopian Feyisa Lilesa and American Susannah Scaroni took their first victories in the race on Sunday, March 19, as 21 Olympians and 11 Paralympians led the way for nearly 20,000 runners through the 13.1-mile course from Central Park to Lower Manhattan.

Harrison and Thompson for Kingston Invite - KINGSTON (JAM): Asafa Powell, Elaine Thompson, Andre De Grasse and Kendra “Keni” Harrison are the big names announced for the Jamaica Invitational on May 20 (IAAF World Challenge). The organizers also announced rising Jamaican star quarter-miler Javon Francis and American Lashawn Merritt (in the 200 m against De Grasse) will be on show. Thompson will run the 200 m. World and Olympic bronze medallist Shericka Jackson takes on fellow Jamaican Stephenie Ann McPherson in the 400m, while Olympic finalist Christania Williams will contest the 100m.
