GTM Sportswear® Announces Sponsorship of National High School Coaches Association Programs to Reward High School Athletes

Manhattan, KS, July 29, 2010. GTM Sportswear® has partnered with the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) to sponsor two programs that will honor top high school athletes around the nation. The GTM Sportswear® Athlete of the Month and GTM Sportswear® Senior Athlete of the Year programs will bring national acknowledgement to athletes who have excelled in their sport.

The GTM Sportswear® Athlete of the Month program will begin in September 2010. Each month, September through May, the NHSCA will select six candidates. These candidates will be presented via ballot to a group of high school sports writers, high school coaches, NHSCA, and GTM Sportswear® representatives. Once the recipient is selected the award will be presented at a press conference with local and national press at the athlete’s school.

The GTM Sportswear® Senior Athlete of the Year program will honor senior athletes who excelled in competition and have shown that they are a role model and well rounded student athlete. The recipients, representing a total of nineteen boys and girls high school sports, will be chosen in the same fashion as the Athlete of the Month. The awards will be presented to each athlete at a press conference at their school, with local and national press in attendance. The Athlete of the Year recipients will also be honored in the NHSCA National High School Sports Hall of Fame Museum, which is presently in the planning stages. The NHSCA started the Athlete of the Year program in 2000. Past winners can be viewed at the NHSCA website.
